1/4/2024 0 Comments Hypnogram musicIf so, the evaluation stuff could merge soon and then just get modified whenever the Hypnogram class happens. So again it probably comes down to whether you are okay with the n_stages implementation having a temporary presence. It's minimal, but still maybe less than ideal. That was almost the only reason I needed to modify a few existing functions (eg, sleep_statistics). Plus I was nervous that n_stages was starting to spread too far into the rest of the codebase anyways. So waiting to implement it wouldn't solve any work burden, but you might want to wait just to avoid having n_stages in a few new places only to be removed shortly after. Well I have it all working at this point (w/ the n_stages argument scattered in a few places). Also the EpochByEpoch evaluation class I'm working on for the same PR could eventually be switch to something like hypno.evaluate_against(hypno). This hypnogram class would be a great solution to that. Right now I've added n_stages as a keyword arg to a few functions, which I fear might confuse some users unfamiliar with wearables/actigraphy. It really puts hypnograms at the center of the package, which I think is appropriate since they are really what makes sleep analyses unique.Īfter I finish working on the evaluation classes in #78 this is going to be all the more important, because it introduces the concept of hypnograms with different numbers of possible stages. The class idea is a better solution to all these problems. The more consistent checks would allow for more explicit errors (though they'd probably become obsolete anyways). The str/int difference seems trivial, but in my experience it trips up a lot of new students, especially since YASA currently is not always explicit about the root of the error.I was thinking there should at least be a check_hypno() utility function. Checking hypnogram inputs for all the different functions entails lots of repeated code.I was thinking each function could have an automatic conversion section if necessary. Of course there are the conversion functions, but it seems like tracking that needn't be on the user. The difference in str/int hypnograms can be confusing, mostly because SleepStaging.predict() returns strings, and most other functions require ints. The class would also solve these issues I'd come across: Great idea!! I've also been thinking hypnograms could be handled better, but hadn't thought of making a hypnogram class.

It’s a grand, searching ballad with towering strings and weeping fiddle steel, and it’s absolutely lovely. Heidecker wrote the lyrics, but Natalie Mering wrote the music, and she also sings the song. It’s called “Oh How We Drift Away,” and it’s really more of a Weyes Blood song than a Tim Heidecker one.Īccording to a press release, “Oh How We Drift Away” is the result of a writing experiment. Natalie Mering, the artist otherwise known as Weyes Blood, is part of that Fear Of Death backing band, and she’s appeared on all the singles that Heidecker has released from the LP: The title track, “ Nothing,” “ Property.” Today, Heidecker has shared the last song on the album. And then there’s Weyes Blood, who’s been involved in the whole album and who now gets what amounts to a solo showcase. He recorded the album with a backing band that includes Drew Erickson, the Lemon Twigs’ Brian and Michael D’Addario, and Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado, as well as string arrangements from Spacebomb’s Trey Pollard. Lyrics to ‘Drift Away’ (Steven Universe) cover by Mars Bars. All credits to Mars Bars and Steven Universe, I do not own the lyrics nor song.Original - https:/. Heidecker has been making vaguely satirical singer-songwriter music for a while now, and Fear Of Death seems like a more sincere embrace of the form. Overall, "Before We Drift Away" reflects on the transient nature of life, the desire to cherish and hold onto love, and the fear of losing meaningful connections as time passes by.Later this week, the actor and comedian Tim Heidecker will release his new album Fear Of Death. The outro of the song closes with the statement "I don't wanna grow old," capturing a fear of losing the vibrancy and freshness of youth, as well as the desire to hold onto the love and experiences of the present. The repetition of "hang on to this forever" emphasizes the urgency and intensity of this sentiment. Hollie Smith & Don McGlashan Krukutia / Bathe in the River Katchafire. The post-chorus reveals a strong desire to hold on to the moment forever, indicating a reluctance to let go of the love and meaningful experiences described throughout the song. The clock without a face symbolizes the relentless passage of time and prompts introspection on whether the passing of time will feel like an imprisonment or an escape. In the second verse, the reference to Somnus, the Roman god of sleep, implies that time waits for no one. The question of whether that love will flow into the river or go to waste speaks to the uncertainty of where emotions and connections go when they are no longer present. The lyrics express a longing to hold onto someone's love, recognizing its impending absence. The chorus further delves into the fear of losing love. Hey, this is my first video and first edit, I would appreciate if you take a second to give me your opinion and a way you think I can improve in the comments. And when my mind is free You know a melody can move me When I'm feelin' blue The guitar's coming through to soothe me Thanks for the joy that you're givin' me (Oh, the joy that you're givin' me) I want you to know I believe in your song (Oh, yeah) Rhythm and rhyme and harmony You help me along (makin' me strong) Ah, you're makin' me strong Oh. Despite the chaos and conflicts in the world, the narrator finds solace in the present moment, emphasizing that nothing else matters at that time. The mention of a sea washing away the last of us suggests that life ultimately returns to the elements and is forgotten. In the first verse, the lyrics reflect on the transient nature of life and wonder about what happens after death. "Before We Drift Away" by Nothing But Thieves seems to explore themes of mortality, the fleeting nature of love, and the desire to hold onto meaningful connections before they slip away. 1/4/2024 0 Comments Burial at sea reviewI won’t say why for those who haven’t played the first part, but this entire episode is played as Elizabeth. The second continues in that direction, and adds some additional changes to facilitate playing as Elizabeth. The first half of Burial at Sea made some core changes to the game play, re-introducing the weapon wheel and putting an emphasis on stealth. The world of Rapture has always been interesting. Fortunately, when I started the game played me the last 30 seconds or so of audio from episode 1, which served to remind me where I was. It speaks volumes about the goal of episode 2 – connecting the world of the first game with that of Infinite. I was surprised when, instead of covering episode 1, it instead recapped the events of the original Bioshock. Since several months have passed, I was happy to see a “previously on” option in the menu, hoping it would remind me of everything that was going on. While I’m sad that this is likely the end of Bioshock, the series definitely goes out on a high note.Įpisode 2 picks up right where episode 1 left off. Episode 2 redeems those complaints by doubling the content and adding in a ton of plot revelations. Costing $15 and running between 90 minutes and two hours, it felt light on content for the price. The first episode of Burial at Sea certainly left me curious how the second would play out, but felt like kind of a tease. The balance between harsh, loud noise and moments of tranquillity along with the interesting timbre of the horns results in a distinctive sound that is truly a musical treat.Diving further down into an already deep plot. With this debut album, A Burial at Sea have succeeded in making their mark in the experimental rock scene. However, this brief moment of calm is soon drowned out by intense surge of guitars and horns. The band sing in unison, describing beautiful scenes of sunshine at “ a place I call my own, ” conveying a sense of nostalgia for home. This is the only track on the album with vocals. Opening with moody guitar, the track soon erupts with booming drums, before a surprising turn sees it strip down to bright plucky guitars. However, D’accord is a lot brighter than other tracks on the album, fully utilising the ability of the horns to create a triumphant, euphoric soundscape. Similarly, the album’s second single D’accord carries a rapid tempo, with fast, plucky guitar leading the way. Single, Nice From Afar, Far From Nice, also demonstrates the band’s excellent musicianship, with a fast tempo indicative of black metal before a tranquil middle section of reverbed guitars and subdued drumming gives way to the horn section as the trumpet takes the melodic lead. This intensity is carried onto, You Really Did Grow After All and resolved by an explosion of distorted guitars and pummelled drums.īreezehome shows off the band’s technical abilities, with complex rhythms and a math rock-level of organised chaos. The build of noise anticipates the bombardment of sound about to be experienced, while the horn’s long notes bring a delicate, almost ethereal tone to the track. The album’s short opening track, Intro (Dean’s Deed) is a perfect appetiser for what’s to come. In theory it shouldn’t work but in practice it’s executed wonderfully, as exemplified on their self-titled debut album ‘A Burial at Sea’. The warm tones of trumpets are often in contrast with the harsh intensity of fast, distorted guitar and crashing drums that comes from the rest of the line-up. They have achieved this by including horns in their ensemble. Following the release of their 2017 debut EP ‘…And The Sum Of Its Parts’ and continuous touring, A Burial at Sea have managed to carve a unique position for themselves in the post-rock genre. 1/4/2024 0 Comments Nissan finance hoursSo you are certain to find the new or used Nissan model within your ideal budget.
